RIBA + VITRA TALK: Architects Beyond Architecture

Tue 15/06
17:00 - 18:30
Early bird: £3, RIBA Members: £4, General: £6

Join us for this fourth event in the Architecture Anew talk series, a new season of RIBA + VitrA talks, bringing people together to discuss new ideas about the role of architecture in designing a more sustainable future.

Architectural training provides a wide range of skills that makes architects uniquely suited to developing creative projects far beyond just the designing of buildings. From mapping terrains and communities, to developing revolutionary apps, creating documentary films, and undertaking radical fieldwork, architects are increasingly utilising their varied skillsets to develop humanitarian projects.

Speakers

Mark E Breeze, is an architect and an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker who combines interdisciplinary practice, research, teaching, and environmental design advocacy.

Lindsay Bremner, is a research architect whose current work focuses on "human-more-than-human entanglements" in oceanic worlds.

Chirs Hildrey, is an award-winning architect who developed ProxyAddress to tackle systemic issues faced by those experiencing homelessness and believes that good design should be socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable.

Chairs

Harriet Harris, is an architect and dean of the Pratt School of Architecture in New York.

Roberta Marcaccio, is an editor and an educator at the Architectural Association in London.
